Hallelujah

Hallelujah

When A King Finds His Goddess

I’ve always loved this song in its brutal honesty about love and loss. The complexities and anguish we feel when we lose that which we adored and sacrificed for.

It was brought to my attention that this is a song about female led relationships, and the following lines even include rope bondage:

“Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah”

I remembered this version sung by Alexandra Burke on X Factor UK some years ago, and the imagery inspired this self suspension – a calm relaxing goddess bathing in the moonlight.
