Rope and Mirrors

Rope and Mirrors

Mirror, mirror…. With rope and silk.

Self tie. Photos by me. Guest appearance from Benji.

When I look in the mirror, I see me. On a superficial level I see an image of the body I have. Then I look at my face and see it’s expression, any glow or sadness. Delve into my eyes and I see right into my soul; the place that always exists, the place I can’t hide from. I see my truth and stare, asking myself if I’m happy with what I am.

Looking back at me is someone who has been scarred and laughed, worked and played, embraced and repelled. All my flaws are laid bare, all the bad decisions forced to live with.

I sit dressed in rope and my silk, poised in the moment, accepting my beauty within. This brutal honesty is captued in these delicate images.

“Look at me when I’m talking to you,
You’re looking at me when I’m looking through you.”

Cultural reference “Mirror” by Lil Wayne ft Bruno Mars.
