You Don’t Own Me

You Don’t Own Me

A decade ago, I was not free. I was a caged bird, unable to sing or fly. I lived a shallow existence, trying to get through each day at a time. Then one day I broke free. One day I found the courage to put my safety and happiness first!

“You don’t own me, dont tie me down’cause I’d never stay”

No longer am I owned and directionless.

There is an irony, that in my freedom I’ve discovered the liberation of rope and self bondage. It takes me to a place I can feel at peace, safe in my own capable hamds. Free to explore my mind and body, without judgement or prejudice. Free to be me. As long as I have my rope, I know I’ll never be alone.

Here, I experimented with a double leg futomono on myself. So much bliss in these moments.
